If you haven’t been to the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield with your kids yet, I think you must do so soon.  It’s a children’s paradise!  Bright lights, beautiful and vibrant colors, sugar wall to wall!  Literally!  I felt the sugar rush into my body simply by breathing! Kids were running around happily, looking at walls upon walls of brightly colored squares.

It’s also a photographer’s paradise!  Kids are happy.  Colors are bright.  I’d say it’s a perfect situation for a fantastic photo shoot!

Good thing I brought my camera with me today!

Meet Lilly.

When I first laid eyes on her, I fell in love with her hair.  I love her little curls!  And I love her little outfit!  Such a cute pair of pants.  And a jacket to die for!

She was a little shy, so I stopped taking pictures of her.  That’s OK.  Not all children want to be photographed.  Especially if there’s more fun things – like giant jelly beans hanging from the ceiling!

Thanks to Kasie, Lilly, and Grandmother for today!  Be sure to email me for your prints! [photographer@eugeniaman.com]

I was bringing something to my car when I hear a little kid scream “daaddyyy!!” off in the distance.  My ears perked up immediately and I instantly fell in love with this little guy when I laid eyes on him.  He’s wearing a cow costume!  How adorable! I dashed inside to grab my camera and hoped the family didn’t run off too far.  Luckily, they hadn’t.  Good thing too!  They had time for a mini photo shoot.

Look at this guy!  I love his tufts of hair sticking out!  His shy little smile.  His pose!  He was really cute. We even MOOO’d together!

Dad tells me he’s wearing his halloween costume cause he saw it in his closet this morning and wanted to wear it.  Awesome!  I absolutely love it when parents nurture the individualistic characteristic side of their children.

My favorite part of this morning was when Mom and Dad agreed for a family shot!  Look at this fantastic family!

Thanks again for letting me take your pictures! And (I can’t resist) mooooo!!!

Sorry I’ve stopped posting for the 2010 challenge!  I have fallen ill!  I’m talking an on-and-off fever, leaky faucet for a nose, a throat that burns when I swallow, and ears plugged so it sounds like I live underwater.  Life has been terrible.  But I guess it could be worse!

I’ve taken this time to review what I’ve done in the past month.  Reviewed what was successful, and what was not.

Here’s what I’ll do for the future:

  1. Aim for quality over quantity.  I love the pictures of kids so much more than say, imaginary rainbows at intersections!
  2. In the future, I’ll post more pictures of children.
  3. I’ll keep the inspirational stuff cause that’s what keeps me going as a photographer!  But I’ll keep those to a minimum.  Same goes for the location scouting images.

I’ll leave you with this photo.  It has nothing to do with family portraits, nor being a children’s photographer.  I just like the shot.

Take care everyone!  Drink lots of fluids, wash your hands, and be happy!
