eugenia man photography | Update! Valley Christian Fall Photo Fundraiser

22 Sep

I have some exciting news!  I have a couch for the fundraiser! …and I must say, it’s PERFECT.

It’s a light creamed color (will probably photograph really similar to white).  It has beautiful wooden legs.  It’s comfy.  It’s cozy.  I couldn’t have asked for anything more… suited for this fundraiser!

The pictures below give you an idea of what I’m thinking of doing in the photo sessions.  (Except, Mt. Diablo would be in the background, NOT a wall):

Oh, and before you look any further, I wanted to introduce the very important models I have acquired for this shoot:

  1. The green pillow is named Peabody.  I’ve had him since freshman year of college.  He’s green.  Round.  Looks like a pea.  Therefore, Peabody.
  2. You may recognize Chuckles from this photo shoot here.  I can pretty safely say I’ve had Chuckles before most of the VCES’ers were born!  (Yipes!)
  3. Woody was a gift from one of my nephews.  He knows how much I love Woody and wouldn’t leave Disneyland without (his parents) buying this for me.

OK OK, enough of the introductions – here are the images!:

…these models were fantastic, but I look forward to real human interaction!  These “models” can take direction pretty well, but they don’t have much variation in emotions!

I look forward to working with you all(and your smiley faces) soon!

…children’s stuffed animal photographer? | Meet Chuckles!!

19 Apr

First off, sorry for the delay!!  It’s been a crazy couple of weeks (the good kind of crazy, I promise!) over here at Eugenia Man Photography.  I’ll share the good news with you once everything is finalized.  I’m getting sooo excited for everything!!!

As for the title of this post?  OK, I’ll admit it.  I still have a couple of stuffed animal in my possession.   This furry guy is named Chuckles.  I like to think he chuckles at me when I tell him things… wait, did I just admit to talking to my stuffed animals?

Truth be told, I don’t talk to him… much… anymore.  I’ve had this guy since the 90′s and he’s been loyally at my side since!!

During one of the free moments in my busy days last week, I noticed he was the exact same size as a 9-month old child!!  A light bulb went off!!! Off to a photo shoot we went!!  I lugged him and my camera gear to my backyard and shot away.

I looked around in surprise at all the great spots my backyard had to offer for taking pictures!!  Antiquated + distressed paint!  Green grass!  Well-aged wood!  I think I’ve fallen more in love with my backyard!!

I shot him as if he was a 9-month old baby.  He was still a little wobbly when seated – he had to be propped up a bit in a couple of the shots!, he moved around a bit when put down without support, and he didn’t always smile like I told him to…

…so I had him lay on the floor and look up at the camera, just like I have babies do!!  : )

I smiled at myself (chuckled, even!) at realizing how silly I must have looked.  Had anyone been watching me, they would have thought I was either 1) crazy for taking pictures of a teddy bear 2) crazy for a having a stuffed animal at my age….

Oh well, they can think what they want to think!  I had a fantastic time photographing Chuckles!  And I like to think he had a fantastic time, out of the house for once!!! : )

Until next time,

Eugenia
